This one uses a single independent yardstick: Gridwise telemetry across 500,000+ US drivers - 2025 full-year medians, published April 2026, so all nine platforms are measured the same way: median total trip pay per tracked hour, waiting time included.

What's the highest-paying gig app in 2026?
Walmart Spark by measured medians: $21.74/hr across 14,666 tracked drivers, ahead of Uber ($21.18) and Amazon Flex ($20.89). DoorDash trails at $11.26, nearly a 2x spread.
Why are these lower than the apps advertise?
Apps quote "active time" and "up to" ceilings. This data counts the whole tracked hour, waiting included, which is the hour you live.
Net or gross?
Gross. Gas, wear, and self-employment tax come out of every bar, and hit high-mileage platforms hardest. Your net $/hr is the decider.
Steadiest pay?
Route work (Flex blocks, Jitsu, Veho): known pay, no waiting, but no tips. Food and grocery apps swing with tips at 42-52% of earnings.
