About GigOdo

GigOdo is an independent mileage and earnings tracker for gig drivers, built and run by a small independent developer rather than a venture-funded company. It exists because the platforms drivers work for report only part of their mileage, and the trackers that fill the gap mostly want a login to the driver's account. GigOdo wants neither.

What GigOdo actually is

An Android app and a web app that record the miles you drive for work, what each platform paid you, and what your fuel costs, then compute the numbers that decide whether a shift was worth doing: net dollars per hour, net dollars per mile, and your IRS mileage deduction at the correct rate for the date of each trip.

It does not connect to Uber, DoorDash, Instacart or any other platform account. There is no integration to authorise and no credential to hand over, which is a deliberate design choice rather than a missing feature. The full capability list, with each item marked free or paid, is on the features page.

Who builds it

One independent developer, working directly with the drivers who use it. There is no content team, no outsourced writing agency, and no marketing department. The tester feedback board that shapes the roadmap is read by the person who writes the code.

We have chosen not to put a personal name and photograph on these pages. That is a privacy decision consistent with what the product does: a tracker built on the argument that people should be able to work without broadcasting their address history sits badly with a founder profile optimised for search engines. Everything on the site is published as GigOdo, and support requests reach a real person at support@gigodo.app.

How GigOdo makes money

Subscriptions, and nothing else. Tracking, the fuel log, deduction totals and CSV export are free with no trip cap. GigOdo Pro adds cloud sync and backup, the weekly review, and the CPA report pack. That is the entire business model.

We do not sell driver data, run ads, take affiliate commissions on the comparison pages, or accept payment for placement in any ranking on this site. When a competitor is described accurately on a comparison page, including where a rival's free tier beats ours, that is not an oversight.

How the facts on this site are checked

Most of what we publish is tax and earnings information that costs drivers money if it is wrong, so the process matters more than the volume:

Where a fact could not be verified, the page says so instead of asserting it. Nothing here is tax advice, and figures on this site are estimates for planning; a return should be filed with a professional who knows your situation.

On privacy, specifically

Your trip coordinates never leave your device. The app works fully signed out, and sync exists only for people who want a backup across devices. The privacy policy says the same thing in more formal language, and account deletion is a one-click web page rather than a support ticket, because a deletion process that requires asking permission is not really a deletion process.

Support, corrections, and press: support@gigodo.app. If you find a factual error on any page here, that address reaches the person who can fix it, and a correction is more useful to us than a polite silence.
