The mileage tracker built for Instacart shoppers

Instacart tells you what a batch pays. It does not hand you a mileage log - not per batch, not at tax time. Every mile you drive shopping is documented by exactly one person: you. GigOdo does it automatically, so the deduction on a heavy shopping month actually makes it onto your Schedule C.

A shopper's miles add up faster than they look

A full-service batch isn't one drive. It's the run to the store, sometimes a second store, then a chained route to two or three customers - and then the drive to wherever the next batch pings. A busy shopper can put 400 to 600 miles a month on the car. At the current IRS rate of 76 cents per mile (72.5 cents before July 2026), 500 monthly miles is a $380/month deduction - $4,560 a year - that exists only if it's logged. Instacart won't log it. GigOdo will.

How shoppers use GigOdo

Which batches are actually worth it?

A $30 batch that chains three customers across 22 miles is not the same money as a $30 single-drop two miles away. Because GigOdo pairs every payout with its miles, your history tells you your personal break-even - and the weekly AI review will point out patterns like "your Sunday morning batches averaged $2.10/mi, double your weekday rate."

Driver questions

Does Instacart track my miles?
No. Instacart does not provide shoppers a mileage log, per batch or at tax time. Your own contemporaneous log is the documentation the IRS expects.
Which miles can shoppers deduct?
Generally the miles driven in the course of working - to the store for an accepted batch, between stores, to customers, and between batches while you're actively shopping. Rules on the first leg from home vary; ask your tax professional.
Do tips count in my earnings?
In GigOdo, yes - log the full payout including tips so your $/mile and weekly review reflect what you actually made.
Is it really free?
Tracking, the fuel log, deduction totals, and CSV export are free forever with no trip cap and no card. Pro ($2.99/month founding price) adds cloud backup, sync, the weekly AI review, and tax extras.
